Table positions
Six seats, and they are not equal: the later you act, the more you know by the time you decide. Clockwise from the dealer: button, small blind, big blind, first, second and third position.
There are six seats at the table and they differ in one thing: the order of acting. First position speaks first after the flop and knows nothing about the opponents. The button speaks last and by the time it decides has seen what everyone did. The same hand in first position and on the button is two different hands by price.
Before the flop the order is different: the three seats after the big blind act first, then the button, then the blinds. That is why first position opens tighter than the button: five players are still to act, and any of them can raise. In Rush & Cash tighter still, because folding costs nothing and the next hand is a second away.
An example from session 6
A♥A♦ in the small blind, the worst seat after the flop: I act first on every street. I bet the flop, then stopped betting and just responded. Of the opponent's $53.50, $45 arrived after I stopped betting: with position behind me, he read my logic and carried it on himself.
The same in business
Position is the right to learn the other side's decision before announcing your own. In negotiation it goes to whoever made the other party name a price first. In a corporation, to whoever speaks last at the meeting. This advantage costs nothing and takes no talent, which is why nobody fights for it, and why it is given away so often for free.
The whole hand is in session 6: “When your logic is visible from the outside, someone else finishes it for you”.
